Greeting to all Sorors, Brothers, Amicae, Youth and Friends:
I am delighted to serve as your new Illinois State Director. I have been a member of the State board for the past 10 years under the past 3 State Directors, Sorors Alice F. Craft, Michelle Porter Norman and Earnestine Jefferson-Martin. I am proud to take on the helm and utilize the skills that all of my predecessors have taught me. I have been an active and financial member of this great organization since Spring 1994 when I was initiated through Zeta Tau Zeta Chapter, Chicago. I am a charter member of Tau Psi Zeta Chapter, Alsip since 09/19/2004 and am looking forward to visiting every chapter in Illinois.
Initially, I would like to thank Soror Craft for her faith in my talents and her continued support and a special congratulations on her appointment. I look forward to my new role and plan to continue to assist the award wining Illinois chapters to shine at conferences. The theme for this administration is: "Illinois - A Legacy of Leadership".
Remember, the success of our State is up to YOU!! Our state plan will include: reactivation of inactive Sorors, increase in membership especially on the undergraduate level and training for all Sorors on the new programmatic thrust initiative.
Sorors, I am open to new, positive ideas for uplifting our Sorors and State to help us unify. Contact me with anything that can help Illinois continue to strive for greatness!!
Sisterly,
Soror Renee S. Byrd
IL State Director
